OKX
A large global exchange offering spot, derivatives and a self-custody wallet.
Quick Verdict
OKX is the one venue in this set whose regional structure can be read straight off its own terms: the document names the contracting entity for each area, which is the question most exchange pages answer vaguely. Its spot fee table is complete and, unusually, goes negative at the top three tiers. Two caveats the platform states itself and we repeat: fees vary by region, so the published table is not necessarily your table, and a tier change takes effect the next trading day rather than immediately.
Key Facts
| Field | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Founded | Not yet verifiedThe terms of service do not state a founding year, and no corporate-history page was read in this pass. | Official page |
| Headquarters | Not yet verifiedThe platform does not publish this as a single consolidated figure or list; assembling it would mean inferring from secondary sources, which this site does not do. | Official page |
| Entity behind the service in your region | OKX’s terms name the contracting entity by area: OKX Europe Limited (Malta) for residents of approved EEA locations, OKX Europe Markets Limited (Malta) for EEA residents generally, OKX Middle East Fintech FZE for UAE residents, OKX El Salvador for El Salvador and a listed set of Latin American countries, entities for the Bahamas, Brazil and Singapore, and Aux Cayes, a Seychelles company, for all other eligible users. This is the closest thing to an availability answer any venue in this set publishes, and it is still not a yes or no for a given country: naming an entity does not mean every product is open to every user of that entity. | Official page |
Availability
Availability is the field most often published wrongly. Which entity serves you, which products you may use and whether you may hold an account at all depend on your country of residence, and the rules change. We do not guess them.
| Field | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Countries and regions served | The terms of service identify five operating structures: Malta entities for the EEA, a UAE entity, an El Salvador entity covering El Salvador and a named list of Latin American countries, entities for the Bahamas, Brazil and Singapore, and a Seychelles entity for all other eligible users.Signed out, we are in the “all other eligible users” bucket. That is a fact about the research environment, not about any reader’s account. | Official page |
| Countries and regions restricted | Not yet verifiedThe terms set out sanctions and prohibited-party rules rather than a country list; the restricted-country list itself is not published in one place. | Official page |
| Identity verification requirements | Not yet verifiedGoverned by the terms and the onboarding flow rather than a summary we could cite. | Official page |
Fees
Published fee schedules vary by region, account tier, thirty-day volume and promotions, and they change without notice. The table records what we have verified and links to the platform’s own fee page so you can check the current numbers yourself.
| Field | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Spot maker fee — Regular user | 0.0800% for a user with under 100,000 USD of assets and under 1,000,000 USD of 30-day volume. | Official page |
| Spot taker fee — Regular user | 0.1000% on the same criteria. | Official page |
| Published fee tiers | Ten levels, Regular through VIP 9, set by deposited assets OR 30-day trading volume — whichever qualifies you for the better level. VIP 6 reaches a 0.0000% maker rate, and VIP 7 to 9 are negative at −0.0010%, −0.0025% and −0.0050% maker, which OKX describes as a rebate for providing liquidity.Where criteria differ across instruments, OKX applies the highest level you qualify for to all of them. Main and sub-accounts are combined for tiering, and each account then receives the same tier. | Official page |
| When a tier change takes effect | A user’s level determines their fees for the next trading day, and a change is applied between 20:00 and 22:00 UTC.This matters when timing a large trade around a volume threshold: crossing the threshold does not reprice the trade that crossed it. | Official page |
| 24-hour crypto withdrawal limit — Regular user | 10,000,000 USD, rising to 80,000,000 USD at VIP 8. The limit is recalculated daily at 16:00 UTC from your fee level. | Official page |
| Regional variation | OKX states on its own fee page that its fees may vary depending on your region, and points to a regional fee page for the rates applicable to you.The table above is the one OKX serves to a generic English-language visitor. If you are in a region with its own schedule, that schedule — not this table — is the applicable one. | Official page |
| Deposit fees | Not yet verifiedShown on a separate page from the trading fee table, which was not read in this pass. | Official page |
| Withdrawal fees | Not yet verifiedPer-asset and per-network, on a separate page that was not read in this pass. The withdrawal limit above is not a withdrawal fee. | Official page |
| Fee discount tiers other than volume | Not yet verifiedOKX groups assets into fee groups reviewed roughly quarterly and mentions special and stablecoin fee pairs, but the per-group rates were not read in this pass. | Official page |

Pros and Cons
Pros
- The spot fee table is published in full, including the asset and volume thresholds for each level and the fact that maker fees go negative at the top three.
- The terms of service name the contracting entity for each region, which is the specific question a reader needs answered before comparing anything else.
- Proof-of-reserves reporting is published as a numbered series with per-asset ratios and named verification methods.
Cons
- Fees vary by region and OKX says so on its own fee page, so the published table is not necessarily the rate any given reader pays.
- A tier change takes effect the following trading day, which is a real trap for anyone timing a trade around a volume threshold.
- Futures and options rates sit on separate tabs from spot, so one page does not answer the cost question for a multi-product strategy.
Alternatives
Other platforms in the same research set. These are alternatives to look at, not a ranking:
Methodology
Every factual field on this page is either verified against a primary source or shown as not yet verified. There is no third state.
Primary sources are the exchange’s own fee schedule, help centre, terms of service and regulatory registrations. Third-party review sites are treated as leads, not sources.
Fee figures change without notice and vary by region, account tier, 30-day volume and promotions. Treat any figure on this site as a starting point and confirm it on the exchange’s own fee page before acting.
CoinSoso does not assign star ratings or scores. Comparisons are presented as factual field-by-field differences plus a plain-language note on who each platform may suit.
Promotional or referral relationships never change a verdict. If a page carries a referral link, that is disclosed on the page itself.
A verified figure carries the date it was read. A rate published by an exchange is that exchange’s own statement, not an independent measurement by CoinSoso, and the page says so where it matters.
Sources
Everything here comes from OKX’s own documentation — the fee schedule, help centre, terms of service and public market-data API. Of the 25 fields on this page, 14 are verified against one of the pages below and 11 are marked not yet verified, each with the reason.
